This January we were lucky enough to get to visit Club Med’s brand new resort in Michès in the Dominican Republic. It’s the brand’s first Exclusive Collection resort in the Americas.
Never heard of Michès? That’s because Club Med is the very first resort to open in this brand new destination on the northern side of the Dominican Republic, with a transfer time from Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) of just over one hour.
If you’re looking for a resort that’s at the heart of the action, it might not be the one for you. However if you’re looking for an escape and love the idea of being nestled away in the jungle alongside pristine untouched beaches, you will absolutely love it. It’s the perfect alternative to the bright lights of Punta Cana.
With three restaurants, four bars and plenty of inclusive activities including a wide range of water sports you will find plenty to complete a three or four day itinerary. The onsite DMC can arrange extra water sports activities and excursions throughout the area, including to the iconic swing on top of la Montaña Redonda which is an absolute must!
For those who want to relax, there’s the beautiful spa by Cinq Mondes and the fully equipped gym.
The resort is available for private buyouts of up to almost 700 people, and for smaller groups it’s good to know that the resort is arranged into four villages or ‘boutique resorts’, each with its own style and identity including one for adults only.
